Shadow Oak Steakhouse is a wonderful fine dinning restaurant that exhibits a well sought out selection of some of the finest, if not the finest, cuts of steak in all of the Stockton area. Customers who enjoy this local boomer that had opened in the early 1960's varied from movie stars, sports stars, and even by Mr. Spanos himself (so of what I have heard...go Chargers!!).
You will find certified Angus beef cuts of fillet Mignon, t-bone steak, and my personal favorite Kobe steak ribeye - which is recommended to be grilled between medium-rare to just a tad over medium bringing out the great flavor. Seriously, this steak is really, really good. My buddy and I went here not too long ago and he had the T-bone steak, where as I had the Kobe ribeye. After he tasted my steak, compared to his, he was like "I should of ordered that!" Not that he was complaining about his, the t-bone was good mind you, but the Kobe was out of this world.
Moving on: Shadow Oak steakhouse also features other dishes like tilapia, broiled salmon, Halibut with tarragon shrimp, shrimp scampi, and lobster tails (which goes great with steak btw). My favorite of the seafood however is the tilapia with shoyu (soy sauce for the uninformed).
However there is more than just Seafood and Steak served here in this awesome Stockton local restaurant, but there is also rack of lamb - cooked to your choice, served with mint jelly, duck breast with a mandarin orange and wild berry glaze. Most of the food is very good, but of course the off night does happen (just like any other restaurant).
For vegetarians they serve an array of salads from your normal dinner salad, ceasar salad, crab and louie salad, and a greek salad. If salads are not your thing, they also serve a pasta primavera in either a white or red sauce.
With a good selection from the menu to satisfy just about any guests needs, Shadow Oaks steak house is in my opinion one of the best steak houses in the Stockton area. But be sure to make reservations, for they do tend to get busy and this way you are able to guarantee a seat for you and your loved ones. Happy eating!
